Home/K-Antiaging Community/It’s already been three months since my facelift in Korea.

It’s already been three months since my mom had her facelift.

At first, I was honestly really worried.

Because facelift surgery is considered a major procedure, I was most concerned about whether the recovery would be difficult.

But after visiting several consultations and hearing the explanations at NVU Plastic Surgery, I felt much more reassured.

They explained that my mom didn’t just have skin sagging — the facial fat had also descended, causing her jawline to collapse.

So they performed the Egg-Cell Facelift, which removes the sagging fat and lifts the SMAS layer together.

They also refined the cheekbone area and the tissue near the ears, which made the postoperative facial line look much more natural — and seeing the results, I completely understood why.

For the hollow cheeks and nasolabial folds, she also had Forest Lifting.

It supports the retaining ligaments while restoring volume and elasticity, so it fills naturally without any foreign feeling.

My mom was worried it might look too artificial, but the result came out exactly the way she wanted — natural and refreshed.

She did have swelling and bruising after surgery, but with the hyperbaric oxygen capsule treatments, her recovery was much easier than expected.

She kept saying she slept well and felt physically better overall.

Now that it’s been three months, her jawline looks clean and defined again, and the heavy sagging in the lower face is completely gone.

Most importantly, her expression looks so much brighter.

She enjoys looking in the mirror and goes out more often.

Seeing her like this makes me feel that getting the surgery was truly the right decision.

I got a jawline surgery quote in the US, and Korea is more than 50% cheaper.
But I heard I need to stay at least two weeks before stitch removal.
    …

Does anyone know a safe and foreigner-friendly place to stay near Gangnam??

If you’re planning to stay near Gangnam for jawline surgery recovery, you actually have several safe and foreigner‑friendly options. Many patients choose serviced residences or medical‑stay apartments because they’re quieter, cleaner, and used to hosting people after cosmetic procedures.
Areas like Sinsa, Apgujeong, and Cheongdam are especially convenient since most clinics are nearby and the streets are easy to navigate. You’ll also find places with English‑speaking staff, simple check‑in, and good privacy, which helps a lot during recovery.
If you prefer something more structured, some accommodations even offer airport pickup, translation help, and basic post‑op support. Just make sure to choose a place with good reviews from other international visitors.
You won’t have trouble finding a safe spot — Gangnam is one of the easiest areas for foreigners to stay in.❤️
